Three parts, one system
The battery stores power, the starter uses it to turn the engine, and the alternator replenishes it while the engine runs. Testing the whole system prevents unnecessary part swapping.
Common clues
Slow cranking can point to battery condition, connections, temperature, or starter load. A battery that repeatedly dies may be dealing with a charging fault or an electrical drain.
