Ready for a
Pennsylvania winter.

Cold temperatures expose weak batteries, low tire pressure, worn wipers, and neglected fluids.

Prepare before the first storm

Test the battery

Cold weather makes starting harder. If the battery is older, the engine cranks slowly, or lights dim during startup, have it tested.

Check tires and pressure

Pressure drops as temperatures fall. Inspect tread and confirm the tires are appropriate for your driving conditions.

Protect visibility

Replace worn wipers, keep washer fluid rated for freezing temperatures, and clear all windows before moving.

Keep a small emergency kit

Carry a charger or jumper cables, flashlight, gloves, scraper, blanket, water, and a phone charger. Check that the spare and jack are usable.
